There's ANOTHER big batch of Microsoft patches as of last night. So if you patched for the Blaster stuff last week, guess what, you're behind again. >.<

Another patch and update PSA, along with a warning *never* to run anything someone downloads to you on IRC if you didn't specifically ask them for it...

The most automatic thing to do is to:

1) have Windows Update set to check for updates automatically on any system that supports it (I know XP does and am fairly sure 2K does also).

2) have your antivirus software set to check for updates *every day*, make sure that it checks everything you access and everything you download, and run a full drive scan at least once a week.
